Administrative Staff
Beth Regulbuto is the Superintendent of Schools. Ms. Regulbuto holds a B.S. in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University, and a M.Ed. from Endicott College. She is currently pursuing her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. She is a licensed School Business Official, Superintendent, and holds a national certification as a Certified Administrator of School Finance and Operations. Ms. Regulbuto was an Early Childhood and Performing Arts Teacher for over 30 years at various performing arts academy schools and studios in the Northeast. She was the recipient of the John F. Conway Distinguished Service Award in 2013, and she received the National Meritorious Budget Award for five consecutive years for her work in school finance, management, and budgeting. Prior to coming to SBRSD in 2017, she was an Associate Superintendent and Administrator for 13 years in Western Massachusetts.
Sandra Hubbard is the Director of Student Services. Ms. Hubbard holds a BA in Psychology from Saint Bonaventure. She has conducted graduate work in Communications Disorders at The College of Saint Rose and continuing education work at Harvard Graduate School of Education. She holds an M.Ed in Educational Administration from University of Phoenix. Ms. Hubbard began working within the district as a speech therapist in 1999, becoming a full-time faculty member in 2004. Previous work includes speech therapy at Kolburne and Hillcrest Educational Centers, Inc.
Peter Dufresne is the Director of Instruction, Curriculum, and Professional Development. He began his career as a social studies teacher in Granby in 1997. Dufresne earned a master’s degree in education, with a concentration in educational administration, from the University of Massachusetts. He has a B.A. in history from Western New England College.
Jesse Carpenter is principal of Mt. Everett Regional School. He received a BA in English from Wesleyan University and an MA in English from Westfield State University. While at Wesleyan, Mr. Carpenter played 4 years of varsity baseball, and holds the school's record for highest batting average. He played in the College World Series in 1993 and was named to the All New England College Team in 1995 and 1996. Mr. Carpenter joined the Mt. Everett staff in 1998. Previous to being named principal, he served as Grades 7-8 Building Leader, Athletic Director, Varsity Baseball Coach, and Varsity Boys Soccer Coach. He holds MA teaching certification in the areas of English, 5-9, Special Needs, PK-9, and Principal, 5-12.
Doug Daponde comes to us from South Hadley where he previously was the Principal at Michael E. Smith Middle School. He is a twenty-eight year veteran of the United States Air Force in which he served ten years on active duty and eighteen years in the Air National Guard. Mr. Daponde started out as a social studies teacher at South Middle School in Westfield, MA before going into administration. He has experience as an Athletic Director, Assistant Principal, and Principal at the middle and high school levels.
Charles Miller is an enthusiastic educator passionate about elementary teaching and learning. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University, a Masters of Education from Lesley University, and recently completed the School Leadership Program at Harvard Graduate School of Education. He has professional experience as a Dean of Students, Director of Peer Relations, a 5th-grade homeroom teacher, and a Track & Field coach. Before coming to the Berkshires, he worked in Boston and NYC.
Amy E. Lyn is the Assistant Principal of Elementary Schools. She brings extensive experience in curriculum, instruction, and social emotional learning. Prior to joining SBRSD, Amy was a teacher, instructional coach, and administrator. She currently serves on the Professional Advisory Board for Northcentral University where she is an adjunct faculty member and content expert for social emotional learning. Amy holds a PhD in adult learning, a Master’s of Elementary Education, and a Bachelor’s in sociology.
Christopher Thompson is the Technology Director. Mr. Thompson earned a M.Ed. in Technology in Education from Lesley University and is certified as an Instructional Technology Specialist (all levels). He is a graduate of Elizabethtown College (PA), where he received a BA in Mass Communications and a secondary education teaching certificate in Communications and Performing Arts. Mr. Thompson joined the Mt. Everett staff in 2000 teaching video and multi-media production before becoming the district's Instructional Technology Specialist in 2005 and the Technology Director in 2010. In 2008, Mr. Thompson started the Mt. Everett Robotics team which competes in VEX Robotics, a world-wide robotics program. In that time, the Mt. Everett Robotics team has won three state championships, been to the Southern New England finals, and made one trip the world championship. Mr. Thompson is also a Mt. Everett graduate, class of '91.
Harvey Thompson is District Treasurer (.4 FTE). Mr. Thompson began his duties as Treasurer in February of 2006. He is a graduate of the American International College, with a BS in Business Administration. Prior to coming to Southern Berkshire, he served as Chief Financial Officer at the DeSisto School in Stockbridge.
